Aerosol Factory

Out of sight out of mind, but never the less extremely interesting. This 176,000 square foot factory sits hidden behind the trees in the heart of Milford's industrial district, adjacent to the once famous and now demolished Milford Jai Alai. Once inside this outrageously creepy building you are surrounded by amazing pieces of graffiti work and the irony of it all is that it used to be an aerosol factory... As seen in the video bellow you cant take 2 steps without running into a can of spray paint. Today the building sits as a canvas for "taggers" and the massive aerosol tanks sit intact. Out back you can even see the old train tracks that came through to the shipping and receiving building.
The building has been abandoned since the mid 1990's

  2. Pretty sure this is actually a bottle factory! If you saw the big rusted silos in the back those were for the plastic pellets they would use to make the bottles.

    2. It was aerosol techniques in 60's first. Then it had a huge explosion and fire in early 70's it was then turned into a massive 1 and 2 liter doda bottle manufacturing plant operated by owens-illinois.it lasted about 13 yrs or so and abruptly closed. The workers vandalized a lot of equipment there when they found out.

    1. There is no security to speak of at this site. Waterbury and West Haven have ruins that you walk right into as well. Just remember, it is okay to be seen leaving an abandoned building but not so good to be seen going in. Stealth at all times is necessary.

  4. This building was Aerosol Techniques, an aerosol company and then it was bought by Owens Illinois which made plastic bottles. I used to work at Owens Illinois in 1978. Also the massive explosion did not happen at Aerosol Techniques, it happened at Ct. Aerosols which was located at 85 Furniture Row in Milford in 1973..I also worked there but not at the time of the explosion. Life long resident of Milford.

  5. I'm a CT resident and photographer. For anyone looking to explore the Factory in all of its glory, you missed your chance. The bulldozers started to clear cut the lot about a month ago. Very sad.

  7. Officially private property, private property and no trespassing signs have been placed all around the perimeter. Along with the trees being cleared like the person above said, all the buildings' floors have been swept and cleared. It's a sad sight now
